LEGACY DONOR PROGRAM What is the Legacy Donor Program? The Legacy Donor Program is a new planned giving initiative to create Oklahoma Hall of Fame Legacy Donors – those who have established a planned gift to leave to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Although planned gifts usually involve financial or estate planning, they are not reserved for the wealthy. Planned giving is for anyone who wishes to strengthen the future of an organization and help support the mission for years to come. Legacy gifts in any amount can be game-changing for an organization...from helping to sustain programs and add capacity, to growing endowments or launching new initiatives. Types of Planned Gifts While there are many types of planned gifts, the easiest and most common is a bequest through a will. This can be an outright monetary gift, a percentage of your estate, the naming of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame as a beneficiary on a retirement account or life insurance policy, or a specific asset (such as personal or real property).
